LM2596 DC to DC buck converter - HW411

It is an adjustable buck converter module using LM2596.

A buck converter - see below - steps down the higher voltage to a lower voltage. For example, if you need 12V at the output pins from a 24V input power supply, you can integrate the LM2596 module and get the 12V output.

The following is some information for this module;
Input voltage range: 4.5V to 40V
Output voltage range: 1.5V to 35V
Adjustable: It has a potentiometer - trimmer - by which you can regulate the output voltage.
Load current: 3A - absolute rating. But you can efficiently use 2A without any problem. 

Please note you should have at least 1.5V higher input voltage than the output voltage.

A converter is a mechanism by which you transform anything from one form into another.

A buck converter is a DC-DC transformer that transforms the higher input voltage to the lower output voltage.
